BMW Australia has confirmed the latest generation of the awesome M3 sedan and the all-new M4 coupe will arrive in June priced from $156,900 (M3 sedan) and $166,900 (M4 Coupe).
BMW says the newcomers are packed with more than $8,500 worth of extra specifications over the models they replace.
Underscoring development of the BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe has been a focus on better race circuit performance and to this end BMW called in DTM drivers Bruno Spengler and Timo Glock to pound-out hot laps at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
Both models share the new 317kW/550Nm turbocharged V6 engine driving the rear wheels via third generation seven-speed M double clutch transmission and cover zero to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds.
Both feature a carbon roof and, combined with extensive use of carbon-fibre and aluminium, the new BMW M3 weighs-in 60kgs lighter than its predecessor.
Underneath is the Active M Differential, Adaptive M Suspension and electromechanical Servotronic power steering.
Styling sees both the M3 and M4 running 19-inch M double spoke alloy wheels in ‘Ferric Grey’, power dome bonnet, rear ‘Gruney’ on the M3, spoiler on the M4, rear diffusers and the choice of eight colours including two new, unique hues – ‘Yas Marina Blue’ and ‘Austin Yellow’.
Inside is the usual BMW M sporty luxury and technology including an 8.8-inch colour display and 20Gb hard-drive audio storage.
