BMW will unveil the all-new M4 Coupe and M3 sedan at the Detroit Auto Show. While the M4 is all-new, the sedan model is fifth generation of the iconic German high-performance four-door.
Power comes from the 322kW/550Nm twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine providing zero to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds when mated to the seven-speed M Double Clutch transmission.
Weight reduction has been a big focus in both models – they have a carbon fibre roof and, for example, the M4 Coupe tips the scales at 1,497kgs.
BMW also worked hard on chassis development, calling on its German Touring Car Championship drivers to be test pilots during hours of testing at the Nurburgrin-Nordschleife circuit.
And here’s the really good news – there’s a track specification model with, for example, uprated cooling systems for the engine, turbochargers and transmission. Order ours now please!
