It’s lean, mean, and surprisingly green. The BMW i8 has joined the ranks with the Rose Bay police squad, as the latest and most exotic addition to its fleet.
Simon Macedone, the Dealer Principal at BMW Sydney, said that the dealership “has a long history in the Eastern Suburbs, which has been our home for the past 22 years. Our partnership with Rose Bay Police is the perfect way to demonstrate our commitment to the community.”
Receiving the i8 was Rose Bay Police Commander Superintendent Bradley Hodder, who said that the supercar would be a “great community engagement tool, that will be used to showcase the role policy play.”
“Rose Bay Local Area command is very appreciative of the support provided by BMW Sydney. This vehicle, on loan to the Force at no expense to the taxpayer, is another example of this support for community engagement,” Superintendent Hodder said.
The i8 will begin its service immediately, and is scheduled to make appearances at community events to help boost the profile of the department.
