BMW 6 Series Is Sportier and More Economical
BMW's gorgeous 6 Series Coupe and Convertible have scored a facelift with minor exterior and interior changes plus improved fuel economy.
The economy gain for the stunning V8-powered '6' comes from the adoption of Brake Energy Regeneration - part of BMW's EfficientDynamics program. BMW says the Coupe is now down to 10.5l/100kms (5.4 per cent improvement) while the Convertible is down to 10.9l/100kms (6.8 per cent better).
Performance is unchanged with the 270kW/490Nm V8 propelling the Coupe from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds (5.6 seconds for the Convertible). The exhaust has been re-tuned to provide an even better sound.
Exterior changes include new 19-inch alloy wheels (previously 18-inch), a new bonnet with contoured arrow-shaped lines, BMW Individual high-gloss shadow lines and dark chrome exhaust tips. Two new exterior colours have been introduced - Imola Red and Carbon Black
Inside, the latest generation iDrive control system is fitted with a new high resolution 8.8 inch colour monitor and professional navigation with data stored internally (a navigation DVD is no longer required and updated data is added at the dealership via the car's USB interface). The screen also has a high-definition TV and 80GB hard drive with up to 12GB available for audio files.
The beautiful sports seats are standard fitment in Pearl but can be ordered at no extra cost in other colours - Saddle Brown Light, Chateau, Cream Beige or Black. In addition the standard brushed aluminium trim strips can be ordered (also at no charge) in Birch Grain or Maple Grain fine wood.
Prices have risen a little with the 650 Coupe now listed at $227,300 and the Convertible priced at $245,100.
