Nissan 4WD owners are invited to a party in Birdsville in July to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Nissan Patrol’s Simpson Desert crossing.
But facilities in Birdsville are limited so only the first 200 Nissan vehicles to register can be accommodated. To register, go to www.patrol50.com.au
The 50th Anniversary Simpson Desert Crossing is a not-for-profit event, subsidized by Nissan, with proceeds going to Frontier Services, an organization established 100 years ago by John Flynn (founder of the Royal Flying Doctor Service) to support people living in Australia’s remote areas.
Marg and Doug Sprigg will retrace the Nissan patrol G60 crossing of the Simpson by their parents 50 years ago and will arrive in Birdsville on 21 July.
Nissan is planning on some 600 Nissan 4WD enthusiasts to join the party and all manner of Nissan 4WD vehicles will be there, including the yet-to-be released V8-powered next-generation Y62 Nissan Patrol.
