Volkswagen Group chief Martin Winterkorn has confirmed the German giant’s premium brand Bentley will launch its first SUV in 2016.
How closely the production version resembles the awkwardly-styled EXP9 F concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show last year remains an open question.
In its quest for great sales volume Bentley needs an SUV and the company says it debutant will be the world’s most luxurious and most powerful SUV. BMW and Mercedes-Benz might have something to say about that claim!
The announcement came as British Prime Minister David Cameron celebrated Volkswagen Group’s additional $1.2-billion investment in the assembly plant in Crewe, England for the SUV and the creation of an extra 1000 jobs.
