Bentley meets Pop Art
A Bentley Continental GT was the ‘canvas’ for the latest work of acclaimed Brazilian Pop Artist Romero Britto.
Painted on a static prototype Continental GT, the colourful work was unveiled as part of Britto’s exhibition ‘Come To My World’ at the Automobil Forum Unter den Linden in Berlin, Germany.
Featuring bright stars and flowers, the unique Bentley will be on display until 6 September.
Britto is one of the world’s most regarded pop artists. He grew up amongst poverty in Recife, Brazil but now his works are owned by collectors including the Kennedys, Rothchilds, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steffi Graf and Elton John.
“It is the most beautiful and elegant car in the world. The lines of the new design are perfect to paint as a clean canvas. What a way to start a fascinating and colourful journey,” Mr Britto said of the Bentley.
Raul Pires, Head of Exterior Design at Bentley - and like Britto a native of Brazil - was central to the creation of this unique Continental GT.
At the conclusion of the display, the Britto Bentley will be auctioned and proceeds donated to the Nathalie Todenhofer Foundation for multiple sclerosis and Best Buddies, an organization dedicated to improving the integration of the mentally disabled into society.
