With 80,000 spectators in attendance at the Silvestone Classic race weekend, some 767 E-Type Jaguars took to the track for a one-of-a-kind parade lap.

Thus the Guinnes World Record for the ‘larget parade of Jaguar cars’ was set.

Included in the lineup was the oldest surviving Jaguar E-Type – British registration 9600HP – which is the only 1960 prototype still in existence.

In fact there were more than 1,000 E-Type Jaguars were at Silverstone and some 800 took the the circuit for the parade lap but 50 years tests the memory and Jaguar has only been able to accurately trace the ownership history of 767 – so the officvial ‘Guinnes’ record number is 767.
