Audi is using next month’s Worthersee, Germany annual gathering of high-performance Volkswagen Group Products to unveil the TT Ultra Quattro concept.

The already lightweight Audi TT sheds some 100kgs in the Ultra Quattro to tip the scales at just 1111kgs. This has been achived thanks to a carbon fibre rear-end plus carbon fibre for the bonnet, centre-tunnel, B-pillars and roof as well as magnesium components in the floor and hinge reinforcements.

Power comes from a modified 2.0-litre TFSI engine delivering 228kW/400Nm and zero to 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds (1.3 seconds faster than the standard TT). To save weight the battery is replaced by a compact lithium-ion battery (just 4kgs) located under the drivers’ seat.

Further weight reductions underneath see ceramic brakes with aluminium fixed calipers, suspension springs are fiberglass-reinforced plastic, there’s a single-outlet exhaust system made from titanium and light-weight carbon fibre-alloy wheels.

Painted in a special ‘Crystal White’ colour, the Audi TT Ultra Quattro looks sensational with motorsport-sourced aerodynamic aids highlighted by the carbon fibre rear wing with milled aluminium supports.
