Audi isn’t letting up with teasers of their all-new A8, which is touted to be their most luxurious and technologically advanced car in their line-up (obviously). And yet again, they’re somehow squeezing in a Spiderman movie plug - a promotional campaign that we’re still struggling to understand.
In the video teaser below, the same father and son pair up in a short day-in-the-life style snippet. The parent here is headed out from his swanky modernist bungalow in his A8 while his son has decided to draw some kind of impromptu chalk mural on a conveniently located blank wall just a few skips from the garage.
The car is more visible this time around, showing off its singleframe grille and the rest of its front fascia. We catch some glimpses of its side profile and character lines too, helpful for extrapolating the final car’s proportions, as well as the car’s fancy LED tail lights upon startup.
The video preview ends as the duo wave goodbye against the background of a blurred A8, its wheels of many spokes gleaming in the sun. Parting words from Audi: “#ForgetTheUsual. The new Audi design.” Clearly the little boy is a Spidey fan too. Surprise surprise.
Clearly the Ingolstadt automaker sees this car as a template from which all new designs will flow. From our impressions, the car doesn’t stray far from the most recent flourishes seen on their current-generation machines such as the A4, A5, Q5, and Q7. We suspect that the new A8 will more than bear a passing resemblance to the Prologue concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
