Audi’s handsome new A6 Allroad Quattro has been launched in Australia, priced from $117,900.
Audi is a calling the latest A6 Allroad Quattro a ‘Limited Edition’ (only 150 are coming to Australia) and like its predecessors, the new version gives the Avant (wagon) version of the A6 some SUV capability with the ride height raised by 6cm and extra toughness. In rugged going, the driver can select an even higher ride level (raised by 35mm) giving an SUV-like 175mm of ground clearance.
Underneath there are steel protection panels and the exhaust pipes adopt a flat shape for enhanced clearance. Wheel arches are flared and come with plastic protectors to match similar ones fitted to the side sills.
Fuel consumption for the 180kW/580Nm 3.0-litre TDI engine has been improved by 16 per-cent over the outgoing model – now 6.3l/100kms.
The Audi A6 Allroad Quattro comes with adaptive air suspension which improves on-road dynamics at speed by lowering the vehicle by 15mm. Wheels are 20-inhc alloys in a five-parallel spoke design.
