Audi developed the A3 four-seat notchback sedan as a concept, but readers of Germany’s ‘Autobild Klassik’ magazine have fallen in love – they voted it the ‘2011 Classic Of The Future.’
That’s an impressive start for Audi’s all-new compact which has yet to start production.
As shown, the Audi A3 certainly lives up to the German brand’s reputation for high performance sedans – power comes from the turbocharged five-cylinder engine delivering 300kW of power and driving through the seven-speed S trnic transmission and Audi’ Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Audi’s design chief Stefan Sielaff accepted the ‘Golden Steering Wheel Award’ at a ceremony in Stuttgart and apart from saying the notchback A3 provides a sneak peak of future A3 styling, gave away nothing more about future plans for the ‘pocket rocket’.
