Audi has launched ‘Performance’ versions of the RS 6 Avante (wagon) and RS 7 Sportback models with the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 TFSI petrol engine now beefed-up to 445kW/750Nm.
Driving through the eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel-drive, the extra grunt slashes the zero to 100km/h time to the supercar mark of 3.7 seconds.
That’s how you make two of the world’s most desirable cars even better!
Changes include extra revs and more boost but fitment of t cylinder-on-demand technology which sees the ‘Performance’ models run on four cylinders under partial load enable combined-cycle fuel consumption to remain at 9.5l/100kms and 9.6l/100kms.
Underneath you can option the Quattro system with the sport rear differential with active torque distribution between the inside and outside wheel.
The RS adaptive air suspension (lowers ride height by 20mm) is standard or you can fit the firmer RS sport suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control.
Wheels are an exclusive new 21-inch alloy and carbon ceramic brakes are on the options list.
Styling sees a unique front bumper with larger air intakes, a gloss black honeycomb grille, rear diffuser and flared side sills.
Inside the standard interior sees RS Sports seats or you can select the RS performance design package (black and blue only) with seats and trim in Alcantara/leather.
These two stunners are due in Australia next Autumn at which time we’ll learn full local specifications and prices.
File them under ‘M’ for ‘Must Have’.
