Audi's superb TT lineup has been boosted by the launch of the first RS model.
The RS TT delivers massive performance from its turbocharged direct injection 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine that produces 250kW/450Nm. Driving through a short-shift sports six-speed manual transmission with Hill Start Assist and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system, the TT RS explodes from zero to 100km/h in less than five seconds.
Priced at $133,700, the new TT range-topper oozes Audi's trademark technology and sports/luxury appointments.
Outside RS TT is distinguished by unique 19-inch alloy wheels, a fixed rear wing, an RS diffuser insert and oval tailpipes. There is also an RS diamond-look radiator grille, large side air inlets and brushed aluminium exterior mirrors.
Inside are beautiful TT RS bucket seats in Fine Nappa leather. There is a DVD-based navigation system with a glovebox-mounted CD changer.
Suspension is firmer sports-tune with Audi Magnetic Ride for dynamic ride and handling.
