Never resting for too long, Audi has upped the ante with its rip-snorting TT RS models with the launch of the TT RS Plus version in both Coupe and Roadster variants.

Power is up by 15kW to 265kW and torque is boosted to 465Nm. Zero to 100km/h zips past in just 4.1 seconds and fuel consumption is rated at an impressive 7.0l/100kms.

The upgrade comes thanks to tuning of the 2.5-litre, five-cylinder TFSI engine and fitment of a sports exhaust system.

Audi has released details of the TT RS Plus in Europe (six-speed manual or seven-speed twin-clutch S tronic automatic) but no news yet from Audi Australia on local plans.

The Audi TT RS Plus sits on 19-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels (18-inch on the regular TT RS), there’s also a matt aluminium/polished anthracite diamond pattern mesh grille, black oval tailpipes and carbon fibre exterior mirror housings. Under the bonnet a carbon design package gives the Audi TT RS Plus a racier look.

In Britain, pricing for the Audi TT RS Plus starts at £48,945 (about $AU76,000).
