Audi has celebrated cumulative production of 10million A4/Audi 80 mid-size vehicles.
The 10-millionth vehicle was – fittingly for the German brand – a sporty 245kW V6-powered A4 sedan painted in sporty Misano red and trimmed in black and alabaster-white.
“Thanks to its sophisticated technology and excellent quality, the Audi A4 is our best-seller – winning over customers in every market since it was launched. With our strong team and our effective Audi production system, we will continue writing this success story, especially as a modified version of the Audi A4 will soon be launched,” revealed Audi board member Frank Dreves.
The first Audi light-weight, mid-size sedan – the Audi80 – appeared back in 1972. The Audi 80 ran four generations until it was replaced in 1994-95 by the A4.
In many ways the philosophy of the Audi A4/80 is the DNA of the entire Ingolstadt, Germany brand – a philosophy enthusiastically endorsed by high performance automotive enthusiasts throughout the world.
