Sydney-based Ateco Automotive has assumed distribution of Lotus cars in Australia and New Zealand.
The iconic English sports car brand established by Colin Chapman joins Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Citroen and Great Wall in the Ateco stable.
Ateco says in coming weeks it will announce new initiatives for Lotus in both Australia and New Zealand – ahead of the 2013 launch of the lotus Esprit and 2014 introduction of the Lotus Elite.
Currently the Lotus lineup includes some staggering sports cars – Elise, Exige and Evora.
Given Colin Chapman’s Formula One rivalry with Enzo Ferrari, one can only imagine what the pair would make of their road vehicles being sold by the same company!
