Plenty of interest for Australian new car buyers on the Frankfurt Motor Show stand of General Motor’s UK brand Vauxhall.
The Zafira Tourer is a seven-seat MPV which is scheduled for European launch early next year. Vauxhall says we should expect new engines and more interior luxury from the new Zafira Tourer.
Vauxhall’s racy Astra GTC goes on-sale later this year and it’s certainly a sharp looker. With a choice of high-performance petrol and diesel engines plus specially-developed high performance suspension, the Astra GTC will be a contender in the ‘hot hatch’ market.
And Vauxhall’s Ampera will be displayed in production-ready form just ahead of European sale. Like the Nissan LEAF and Mitsubishi i-MIEv, the Ampera is set to make electric motoring ‘do-able’ for most new car buyers regardless of their location and driving environment.
Vauxhall says Ampera’s ‘range-extender’ makes possible a range of 500kms on electric power.
