As the name makes clear, the latest collaborative effort between Aston Martin and coachbuilder Zagato is based upon a Vanquish, of which only 99 examples will be made - matching the coupe’s numbers. Barring the rather exquisite exterior, this ‘Volante’ version, like the coupe, is otherwise identical to the standard Vanquish.
There’s also a more powerful naturally-aspirated 6.0-litre V12 of the variety that has come to be a aural signifier that an Aston Martin is approaching is slotted behind the front wheels under the car’s long bonnet, producing 441kW (over the standard Vanquish’s 424kW).
The car is set apart, though, by the sheer uniqueness and level of detailed care and consideration that Zagato stamps upon each handbuilt example. A number of Aston Martin touches have also been included such as the round tail lamps that feature ‘bladed’ LEDs like the ones found on the Vulcan.
There’s also carbon fibre sills on the car’s lower perimeter and an interior that’s been thoroughly given a going over by Zagato. Highlights include a ‘Z’ pattern stitchwork on the seats and door trim, the coachbuilder’s ‘Z’ logo emblazoned on the headrests.
