Aston Martin has made a bold claim that its 2015 V12 Vantage S Roadster, on-sale later this year, will be its fastest and fastest-accelerating roadster yet.
Powered by Aston’s AM28 6.0-litre V12 engine 421kW/620, the Vantage S Roadster covers zero to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Drive is to the rear wheels via the latest generation Speedshift III automatic transmission with steering wheel paddle-shifters for manual changes. This transmission is actually 20kgs lighter than the previous model’s six-speed manual and is in a transaxle arrangement sourced from Oerlikon Graziano.
Underneath is three-stage active damping and ZF power steering with a quick 15:1 ratio and two-mode assistance settings.
Styling is along the lines of the V12 Vantage S Coupe but the Roadster options unique 10-psoke alloy wheels.
