104-years of history, over $110mil of cars.
Aston Martin, the legendary British marque, should never be described as stodgy or stuffy. Having recently taken ownership of three hangars in St. Athan, Wales from the British ministry of defence, they decided to show off its illustrious 104-year heritage with a short film guaranteed to leave aficionados salivating.
Three protagonists star in the film, namely Aston Martin Racing’s World Endurance Championship (WEC) drivers Nicki Thiim and Darren Turner, as well as Aston Martin’s chief engineer Matt Becker, take a handful of Aston’s roaring around the facility. Tyre squeal, smoke, and smiles ensue, with everything from the Aston Martin A3 to the Cygnet city car, and even the Vulcan having a moment in the limelight.
Though this film may serve to celebrate the heritage of Aston Martin, it certainly highlights the aesthetic and mechanical beauty of Gaydon’s vehicles over the years. It’s brought back memories of some true motoring greats, and shows us how intently the winged marque intends to rocket into the future.
