Victory went to a Toyota Yaris TR model powered by the new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which averaged 3.25l/100kms over the 560kms route. Exhaust C02 emissions were measured at just 120g/km.
The two-day fuel economy test is considered a real world guide to what careful driving can achieve in modern cars as it covered a variety of freeways and British ‘A’ and ‘B’ roads.
