Pay attention now, this gets confusing. Two all-new Toyota Corolla sedans have been revealed in past 24 hours – one in Istanbul, Turkey and the other in Santa Monica, California.
If you like the following Californian version, we’re sorry because it’s not coming to Australia.
Nope, our all-new Toyota Corolla sedan will be based on the European version (the one shown here in images from Turkey). In fact the car unveiled in California is basically just for North America – the European version will see duty in Australia and most other 150 or so countries in which it will be sold.
You could say the Toyota Corolla has been successful – ‘only’ 39.7-million have been sold since its debut in 1966. It is the number one best-selling car in Australia so far this year.
Naturally Toyota is keen to keep the lid on some details of the 11th generation Corolla this far from launch, but the word is to expect more interior space (required to keep pace with the massive interior of the all-new Nissan Pulsar).
