Nissan will boost its presence in Europe’s compact hatchback segment with the all-new ‘Note’ set for unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The Nissan Note will be manufactured at the company’s British assembly plant in Sunderland.
Under the bonnet are two new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol and supercharged diesel engines (the latter a Miller Cycle configuration). Also available is a four-cylinder 1.5-litre turbo-diesel sourced from Renault.
Safety technology is impressive with the Nissan Note debuting an ‘Around-View Monitor’ (a first for B-Segment compacts), lane departure warning, blind spot warning and ‘Moving Object Detection’. And here’s a clever idea – the wide-view rear camera comes with its own washer and drier to keep the image crystal-clear.
“New Note fulfills a really important role in our lineup, combining really smart design with technology that has never been offered in the B-Segment before,” revealed Nissan Europe marketing boss Geraldine Ingham. “We’ve used design and engineering innovation to make premium technologies accessible and affordable.”
