‘Mirage’, one of Mitsubishi’s best-known nameplates returns to Australian showrooms from January and the all-new model is on display at the Australian International Motor Show (Sydney) this week.
Mitsubishi will launch thre all-new Mirage in three model grades – LS, ES and Sport (based on the ES). The Sport model gains14-inch alloy wheels, a roof spoiler, four speaker audio and black trim highlights.
Power comes from Mitsubishi’s clever 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Smart MIVEC petrol engine delivering 57kW/100Nm and fuel consumption as low as 4.6l/100kms. Drive is via a five-speed manual transmission or CVT automatic.
And it’s certainly compact – 3,710mm in length, 1,665mm wide and 1,500mm high – and the 8.8-metre turning circle will easily beat most carparks.
Inside the all-new Mitsubishi Mirage provides a good look with black and ivory two-tone dashboards something out of the norm in this segment. And Mitsubishi says the flat rear seat makes it easy for three occupants to be comfortable and for straight-forward installation of child seats.
