Kia is on-track for a third-quarter launch of its all-new Sportage SUV that was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.
For the third generation model, Peter Schreyer, Kia’s Chief Designer, has taken the Sportage in a bold new direction with just some cues from the equally good-looking Sorento model.
Locally, the new Sportage will be offered in 2WD with a 2.0-litre petrol engine or in all-wheel-drive with a 2.0-litre diesel. The company is still evaluating the possibility of a 2.4-litre all-wheel-drive model.
Sportage will run the same six-speed automatic transmission fitted to the Sorento.
The Sportage is the single longest-running model in Kia’s Australian model line-up.
