Despite record-breaking snow falls throughout northern North America, Kia heated-up the Chicago Auto Show by throwing the covers from the all-new Cerato five-door hatchback (known as the Forte in North America).
Brandishing the latest installment in Kia’s outstanding new style, the good-looking all-new Cerato is lower, longer and wider than the current version.
Under the bonnet, a new turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with 150kW/264Nm makes this the most powerful Cerato so far. Drive is via a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Kia Australia will launch the all-new Cerato in the third quarter of this year and while local details haven’t been announced, the North American Forte is available in two model grades – EX and SX.
Specification levels in the USA include a rear camera, cruise control, LED daytime running lights and 16-inch alloy wheels for the entry-level EX while the upscale SX adds 18-inch alloy wheels and sporty exterior and interior enhancements.
