We know the details of the all-new Kia Cerato sedan as it’s already a goer at home in Korea where it’s known as ‘K3’ but the American version (called Forte) makes its debut at this week’s Los Angeles Auto Show and Kia North America has circulated a website photo.
The all-new Cerato hits local Kia showrooms next year and as we can see, the good-looking sedan adds to Kia’s outstanding portfolio of slick design work. As per the current model, Kia Australia will launch the sedan version first, followed by hatchback and coupe variants.
Longer and wider than the current model, the all-new Kia Cerato also delivers 51mm extra length in the wheelbase (2700mm) – and that means more interior space.
In Korea, the K3 employs a 103kW/167Nm 1.6-litre engine however the local version has benefitted from a 2.0-litre powerplant and Kia does have its ‘Nu’ 130kW/211Nm.
2.0-litre engine in production…we’ll have to wait until early 2013 when Kia Australia announces local specifications.
When it comes to small sedans, file this one under ‘G’ for ‘Good-Looking’.
