Toyota is about to have a busier than usual presence at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Hype surrounds possible unveil of an all-new Supra, likely one to be previewed via a racing prototype that would wear something close to the production body, just with a whole lot more aero.

In addition to that, it seems, the Japanese automaker is also about to take the wraps off another one of its most iconic nameplates; only here it’s for a car that’s climbed from success to success since it first appeared since 1966.

An all-new - technically to be the 12th-generation - Corolla is due to appear for the first time in public in the Swiss capital come early March. The hatch, which is known in European markets as the Auris, will no doubt adopt many of the newest exterior and interior cues that we’ve seen in the all-new Camry and the C-HR crossover.

There’s little to be confirmed by analysing this teaser image, but it's fairly safe to assume the sportier direction of the Toyota brand will continue to be pursued in this next Corolla. No doubt it will be built using the company’s new TNGA platform and are likely to include small turbocharged engines in addition to possible hybrid variants, though it’s uncertain to what capacity will these make it to Australia, where the Corolla maintains its title of best selling car.

Because the Corolla will probably be quite a short throw away from being production-spec upon this unveil, expect them to be rolling off the factory line soon after, perhaps with a Down Under launch earmarked for Q3 of 2018.
