Following the runaway success of the 695 Tributo Ferrari model (one of the most exciting cars Car Showroom has driven), Abarth has now launched the limited edition 695 Edizione Maserati.
Only 499 are being built and, just as the 695 Tributo Ferrari was all about, well raucous performance, the 695 Edizione Maserati is all about ‘Gran Turismo’ – Abarth style.
The Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati is a convertible with much attention to detail in materials, aesthetics and refinement. Power comes from Fiat’s 135kW turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol engine driving through the Abarth Competizione transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters.
Abarth fits a variable nack-pressure dual-mode exhaust system which not only improves engine performance but also provides a Maserati-style sound when pushed above 3000rpm.
Suspension and brakes are improved with Koni shock absorbers and braking from Brembo. The Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati rides on 17-inch alloy wheels along the lines of the Maserati ‘Neptune’ design.
On the outside, the Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati can be identified by its three-layer Maserati ‘Pontevecchio Bordeaux’ paint and Xenon headlights.
Insdie, the limited edition model scores a Jaeger brand instrument panel, sand beige leather seats and matt-finish carbon highlights. There’s also a nine-speaker JBL-Karman audio system.
