This is the fastest and most powerful Abarth 595 yet – the limited edition 50th Anniversary model.
Fiat Chrysler Australia has secured 50 of the 132kW/250Nm Italian flyers and they’re priced at $45,000.
Power comes from Fiat’s turbocharged 1.4-litre ‘T-Jet’ four-cylinder engine which dries the front wheels via an electronically actuated ‘Abarth Competizione’ five-speed mechanical transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters.
You’ll get noticed racing through the streets to your nearest pizza joint thanks to the Abarth 595 ‘50th Anniversary’ model’s ‘Record Monza’ variable back-pressure exhaust system.
Underneath are unique 17-inch alloy wheels, Dualdrive electric power steering with ‘Sport’ function, TTC (Torque Transfer Control) and rear parking sensors.
Outside the Abarth 595 ‘50th Anniversary’ scores Xenon headlights and a sunroof. Paintworks is a three-layer white hue which is a modern reinterpretation of the 1963 original and of course there’s no shortage of appropriate logos.
Inside is a similar story with red leather sports seats with white inserts and more Abarth 595 ‘50th Anniversary’ badges.
And what would anything Italian be without fashion accessories? How about 50th Anniversary Tramontaro luggage specifically designed for the Abarth 595? Or a ‘595’ vintage car cover? Or 50th Anniversary Italian Independent special edition sunglasses?
