5-Star Euro NCAP Safety For BMW X1
BMW's all-new X1 SUV has been awarded five stars after completing its Euro NCAP barrier tests.
The stylish and luxuriously equipped X1 is BMW's first compact SUV and will compete with the Audi Q5 and Volkswagen Tiguan when launched in Australia next year.
As you would expect from BMW, the X1's standard features include front, side and curtain airbags, Dynamic Stability Control and Traction Control integrated with the intelligent all-wheel-drive system, emergency brake assist and tyre pressure monitors.
Pedestrian safety is now also part of the EuroNCAP investigations and the X1 scored highly in this criteria thanks to clever designs of its front bumper and bonnet combined with the use of soft materials which yield to reduce head injuries.
The X1 was also praised for its interior safety, in particular its seating and seat belt systems for children aged under three.
BMW claims the X1 will be the safest premium compact SUV on the market.
