It didn’t quite conquer Mount Panorama at its Bathurst 1000 debut last weekend, but Nissan’s full-size Altima sedan should have showrooms racing with news the American-origin newcomer will be priced from $29,990 when it goes on-sale next month.
The good-looking and spacious Nissan Altima will be launched in Nissan’s usual model nomenclature – ST, ST-L, Ti and Ti-S.
While the V8 Supercar version of the Nissan Altima naturally employs a V8 powerplant, the road-going version will see a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 127kW/230Nm driving through a CVT automatic transmission (ST, ST-L and Ti models). For the Ti-S you can chalk-up Nissan’s 185kW/326Nm 3.5-litre six-cylinder.
Specifications sound impressive and break new ground for Nissan with inclusions such as NissanConnect connectivity, around-view monitor, lane departure warning, blind spot warning and moving object detection.
