The Discovery Sport gets some of Land Rover's most recent tech features going into 2017, including some brand new ones that won't let you leave important items in the car.
Coming to the 2017 model year Discovery Sport will be some additional technology features (both for safety and in-car convenience) along with some styling changes for good measure.
Let’s start with the technology first. Land Rover has fitted the Discovery Sport with an updated version of the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, the same the saw recently on the Range Rover Evoque Ember edition, with a larger 10.2-inch touchscreen with a JLR’s new tablet-like interface.
The system also integrates a system that makes its owners less prone to forgetting their wallets in the car. Operating via Bluetooth tags, the Tile tracking device can be attached to items such as a wallet, keys, briefcases or handbags, which would then enable the tracking on said item(s).
Once the on-board tracker detects that item has been left in the car when the driver has exited, the companion app (iOS and Android compatible) will notify the owner and directions can even be relayed to the app screen to direct them back to the car for retrieval.
On the safety front, Land Rover will now equip the Discovery Sport with more advanced features such as Lane Keep Assist, an Intelligent Speed Limiter that can detect traffic signs, and even a Driver Condition Monitor which detects driver drowsiness.
Stepping outside the car, the exterior upgrades are unfortunately not standard fit but are instead options available on the SE and SE Tech trim levels. The new Graphite Pack, like the name suggests, brings distinctive graphite accents throughout, including a new grille, side vents, contrasting grey roof, dark door mirror housings, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
