Here at www.carshowroom.com.au we’re looking forward to sampling the all-new Hyundai Sonata sedan at the national media launch in a couple of weeks and today comes news the lineup will start at $29,990 – the same as Hyundai’s European derived i40 model.
Hyundai’s longest-running model in Australia returns with a choice of two four-cylinder engines – a 138kW naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre or a 180kW turbocharged 2.0-litre and all driving the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
Looks are impressive with a front-end seemingly borrowed from Hyundai’s upscale Genesis sedan.
It’s aerodynamic too with a drag Cd of just 0.27.
Hyundai says the all-new Sonata will offer family-friendly interior and cargo space.
Underneath is a lighter, stiffer chassis claimed to be 41 per-cent more rigid than the previous generation.
And the all-new Sonata will benefit from Hyundai Australia’s usual local suspension development and tuning.
Hyundai will launch the all-new Sonata in its usual grades – entry-level Active, mid-spec Elite and range-topping Premium.
The Hyundai Sonata lineup is:
| Active 2.4l | $29,990 |
| Elite 2.0 turbo | $36,990 |
| Premium 2.0 turbo | $41,990 |
