Hyundai’s updated i30 range has been revealed in Britain highlighted by a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine and fresh new looks.
The ‘Gamma’ 1.6-liter turbo engine (same as fitted to the Hyundai Veloster turbo) delivers 137kW of power at 5500rpm and peak torque of 265Nm from 1500-4500rpm.
There’s also an 88kW/156Nm naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre engine and a 74kW/134Nm 1.4-litre.
On the diesel front there are two 1.6-litre options – 81kW/300Nm or 100kW/300Nm.
And there is a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Styling changes aren’t massive but you’ll notice a bolder grille and new-design 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels. There are also some new colours – ‘Polar White’, ‘Orange Caramel’ and ‘Jet Black’.
Hyundai i30 Turbo models score extra appeal thanks to a unique front grille and LED lights, red accents for front/rear bumpers, twin exhausts and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the turbocharged i30 adds sports front seats, sports instruments and red trim highlights.
Hyundai Australia will reveal local details and prices closer to launch next year.
