Local pricing for Alfa Romeo’s much-delayed 4C sports car has been confirmed at $89,000 – but the initial 120 vehicles secured from the Maserati factory have long gone (some deposits have been held for more than two years!).
Included in that 120 are 75 Launch Edition specials which carry a $109,000 sticker.
Over the standard model the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition scores unique motorsport-derived suspension and exhaust, a revised front-end with enlarged air intakes, 18-inch and 19-inch alloy wheels in forged matt black, some carbon fibre highlights inside and out, red brake calipers, bi-LED carbon-fibre headlights and red or white stitching for the seats.
The lucky 75 who have secured the Launch Edition Alfa Romeo 4C had a choice of two exterior colours – ‘Rossa Alfa’ (red) or ‘Madreperla’ (white).
The mid-engined Alfa Romeo 4C has received rave reviews from the European media and employs Alfa’s 177kW/350Nm turbocharged 1.8-litre engine driving the rear wheels via a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
And, as we know the limited production for the 4C is about to be further tested as the gloriously-styled two-seater spearheads Alfa’s return to North America (the cabriolet version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show a couple of weeks ago.
