Skoda Australia has launched the all new 2014 Skoda Octavia RS in Australia. Bigger than it's rivals the new Skoda Octavia RS is available in either sedan or wagon and is perfect for small families.
Buyers can choose between petrol or diesel engines. The petrol TSI engine is a ripper producing 162kW/ 350Nm and performs the 0-100kmh sprint in 6.8 seconds and goes all the way up to 248km/h. Fuel consumption has been reduced to 6.4-litres per 100kms.
The diesel TDI (135kW/ 380Nm) is the most powerful Skoda diesel to date, producing a time of 8.2 seconds in the 0-100km/h dash. Slower acceleration times are the trade-off for better fuel economy which on the combined cycle is 5.2-litres per 100kms.
What makes the Skoda Octavia RS standout over the other Octavia's in the Skoda stable? Well on the outside the new Skoda Octavia RS gets 18' Alloys wheels, RS Front bumper, Honeycomb grille, front fog lights, Bi-xenon and LED, red brake callipers, lower ride height 12mm(sedan) 13mm (wagon), rear spoiler, LED rear lights, one piece rear reflector and a black rear diffuser.
On the inside the Skoda Octavia RS has an all black interior including roof lining, 3 spoke leather steering wheel, illuminated inside door-handles, alloy pedals, mats with RS design, leather gear sift, red highlight stitching and a RS instrument panel.
A high level of standard equipment includes 8' columbus Sat-NAV, parking sensors front and rear, Colour Multi function display, dual zone air con, auto light and rain sensors and auto dimming mirror.
Safety is also a key selling point with the Skoda Octavia RS getting 9 airbags, driver fatigue detection system and a multi collision brake system. As you would expect with all that safety equipment the Skoda RS Octavia has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating. Those wanting a reversing camera will need to wait until the middle of 2014 before the factory can start to fit them.
