After what feels like an eternity the Porsche Macan has finally broken cover. At launch the Porsche Macan will consist of three AWD models, the Macan S, Macan S Diesel and the range topping Macan Turbo.
Porsche has invested 500 million euro in to their Leipzig plant, which enables them to build 50,000 of the compact SUV's a year.
The Porsche Macan S will come with a 3.0-litre V6 twin turbo engine delivering 250 kW, a seven-speed double-clutch transmission allows the Macan S to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 254 km/h. Porsche claim the fuel consumption figures are between 9.0 and 8.7 litres/100 km, which corresponds to a CO2 emissions level of between 212 and 204 g/km.
The middle of the range Macan S Diesel comes with 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine, power is 190 kW and a top speed of 230km/h. Fuel consumption figures of between just 6.3 and 6.1 litres/100 km, and CO2 value of between 164 and 159 g/km. It's 0.9 seconds slower than Macan S in the 0 to 100 km sprint achieving the feat in 6.3 seconds.
Leading the Porsche Macan line-up is the Macan Turbo which Porsche claim will be the most powerful vehicle in the compact SUV segment. With a 3.6-litre V6 twin turbo engine, the 294 kW engine allows the Macan Turbo to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, top speed is 266km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 9.2 and 8.9 litres/100 km, which equates to a CO2 value of between 216 and 208 g/km.
The standard equipment fitted on the Macan includes all-wheel drive, PDK, multi-function sport steering wheel with shift paddles, large wheels, high-performance audio system and an electrically operated tailgate.
While buyer will be able to option up their Macan with air suspension system, Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus)and Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus).
The new Porsche Macan S, Macan S Diesel and Macan Turbo go on sale in Australia mid next year. Full Australian pricing will be released in the coming weeks.
