The Kia Sportage – one of Car Showroom’s favourite mid-size SUVs – has scored a new engine and a new up-spec 2WD model as part of the 2014 model year running changes.
It’s still a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder but torque is up to 205Nm at 4000rpm (power unchanged at 122kW at 6200rpm). Fuel consumption is reduced to 8.2l/100kms for the manual or 8.4l/100kms for the automatic (both six-speeders).
No change for the 135kW/392Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.
The new model is the 2WD Si Premium which adds 17-inch alloy wheels, leather interior, reversing camera, LED DRLs and roof rails amongst its extras.
