Buoyed by its incredible sales success last year, Hyundai is off-and-running again in 2014 with the introduction of updates for the excellent i40 mid-size sedan and wagon.
Styling changes are minimal – a ‘Shark fin’ antenna for mid-grade ‘Elite’ and range-topping ‘Premium’ wagons and two new alloy wheels (17-inch and 18-inch) for Elite and Premium sedans and wagons.
But technology steps-up with all Hyundai i40 models gaining the Drive Mode Select system (Normal, Eco and Sport) which is operated via a centre console switch.
And the range-topping i40 wagon (Premium model) adds an automatic ‘Smart’ tailgate which can open when someone with a proximity key in their pocket is within 50cm – 100cm of the vehicle (handy when your arms are fully-loaded).
