Summer is just around the corner and there’s good news from Audi emanating from the Frankfurt Motor Show this week with the debut of the gorgeous A3 Cabriolet.
Featuring a fabric roof which opens in 18 seconds and is fully concealed when open, the Audi A3 Cabriolet will be launched with a choice of two petrol engines (1.4 TFSI with cylinder on demand and 1.8 TFSI) and the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel. These will be followed by the first ever Quattro cabriolet and the first0ever S3 Quattro Cabriolet – the latter sounding like this summer’s ‘must have’ for the hip folk in Noosa/Palm Beach/Portsea.
Featuring more interior and luggage space than the previous A3 Cabriolet, the new model brings a distinct new look for the current A3 – an aluminium windscreen frame and longer rear overhang for the cabrio roof plus a bold ‘tornado line’ crease for the sides.
The folding roof is available in black, grey or brown and features acoustic insulation. The rear window is glass and active roll bars provide extra safety.
