On the back of the Fiat 500 Series 3 launch this week, Fiat Australia also took the chance to update the Abarth 595 range. The updated 2014 Abarth 595 no comes in two trim levels, the Abarth 595 Turismo and Abarth 595 Competizione, both models are available in hardtop and convertible.
Both models get the same 1.4-litre Turbo T-Jet engine that produces 118kW at 5,500rpm and 230Nm at 3,000rpm. Fuel economy is a claimed 5.4-litres per 100kms for the manual and 5.3-litres per 100kms when the optional Dualogic transmission is selected. The little Abarth 595 can sprint from 0-100km/h in a claimed 7.4 seconds (manual) and is only slightly slower with the Dualogic at 7.6 seconds.
The Abarth 595 Turismo kicks of the range and comes with a five-speed manual gearbox ($2000 Dualogic optional), Leather seats/floor mats with aluminium inserts, 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels Bluetooth and USB system, Koni front suspension with auto adjusting dampers, perforated and ventilated front discs with red brake calipers, 7.0-inch TFT instrument cluster and a Electrochromatic rear-view mirror.
The Abarth 595 Competizione which is the more aggressively packed of the two gains automatic air-conditioning, Abarth diamond finish five-spoke 17-inch alloys, Carbon-fibre kickplate and aluminium pedals, Fabric Sabelt racing seats in Titanium Grey, Dual-mode Monza exhaust system, optional yellow brake calipers and matt titanium grey stripes.

There is 11 colours available on the Abarth 595 Competizione and a further six bi-colour options which are exclusive to the Abarth 595 Turismo.
