The stunning Jaguar F-TYPE, the British marque’s first production two-seater since the iconic E-Type, arrives in Australian dealerships from next week.
Powered by a lineup of supercharged engines, all driving through the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, the Jaguar F-TYPE is available in three models starting from $138,645.
Entry-level is the F-TYPE which is powered by Jaguar’s 260kW/450Nm 3.0-litre V6 (zero to 100km/h in 5.3 seconds). The F-TYPE rides in 18-inch ‘Vela’ alloy wheels, runs a ‘Light Hex Aluminium’ console finish and leather/suedecloth sports seats.
Next-up is the F-TYPE S which gains a 280kW/460Nm version of the 3.0-litre supercharged V6 (zero to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds). Extras over the standard F-TYPE include adaptive dynamics, an ‘active’ sports exhaust, limited-slip differential and 19-inch ‘Propeller’ alloy wheels. Inside the F-TYPE-S adds leather seats, ‘Dark Hex Aluminium console finish and configurable ambient lighting with various colour choices.
The range-topping F-TYPE V8 S scores the 364kW/625Nm 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine (zero to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds). As well, there are quad exhaust pipes, 20-inch ‘Turbine Silver’ alloy wheels and an electronic active differential.
Jaguar uses the fourth generation of its lightweight aluminium architecture in the F-TYPE and there are the expected subtleties like a retractable rear spoiler and the handsome folding roof (12 seconds to operate at speeds up to 50km/h).
