Boasting nice styling from the Russelsheim, Germany design studios and sourced from Europe, Hyundai’s all-new i30 Tourer (wagon) is now on-sale, priced from $22,990.
The Hyundai i30 Tourer is available with both petrol and diesel engines in entry-grade ‘Active’ and higher-spec ‘Elite’ (the latter only in diesel automatic).
With five-star ANCAP safety and impressive 1642-litres of cargo space, the i30 Tourer is sure to further advance Hyundai’s popularity with both family buyers and commercial operators.
Power comes from Hyundai’s 99kW/163Nm 1.6-litre direct-injection petrol engine and the 94kW/260Nm 1.6-litre turbo-diesel. Drive is via six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
Standard features include stability/traction control, reverse parking sensors, LED DRLs and 16-inch alloy wheels with a full-size spare. Upscale Elite models add handy extras like a rear-view camera and seven-inch touch-screen audio/satellite navigation.
The Hyundai i30 Tourer shares the hatchback model’s 2650mm wheelbase but adds 185mm in overall length. Luggage space with the rear seat in-place is 528-litres (up 113-litres over the previous i30 Tourer), but fold the second row flat and this grows to an impressive 1642-litres (316-litres more).
Styling is another triumph for Hyundai’s German team with the i30 Tourer sporting the latest corporate front-end and integrating a pleasant flowing look for the wagon roof, roof rails, a rear spoiler and handy low-opening tailgate.
Inside is the upmarket i30 appearance with nice soft-touch materials and glossy piano black highlights.
