Powered by Honda’s 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and IMA hybrid system, the Jazz Hybrid combines the hallmark Jazz interior versatility with 4.5l/100kms fuel consumption (with 5.8l/100kms even the regular petrol-powered Honda Jazz is no slouch in the economy department).

The petrol powerplant delivers 65kW at 5800rpm and peak torque of 121Nm at 4500rpm while Honda’s clever IMA electric motor is good for 10kW at 1500rpm and 78Nm from 1000rpm.

The hybrid Honda Jazz is identified externally by its clear grille, blue-tint lights and re-profiled air intake. Inside are unique instruments reflecting the hybrid drivetrain.

Underneath the chassis has been tweaked to cope with the extra 70kgs of weight in the hybrid system.

Of course the big news for the Honda Jazz is its innovative seating system which when folded affords a cargo length of 1720mm and 722-litres of capacity. With the 60:40 split-fold rear seat in-place the Honda Jazz provides a useful 223-litres for goodies.

Car Showroom will be putting the Honda Jazz Hybrid through our usual week-long test routine within a couple of weeks so check back for our driving impressions.
