A ground-breaking moment for Honda is imminent with news its first-ever diesel arrives in April.
Sourced from Europe the Honda Civic Hatchback DTi-S delivers 88kW/300Nm from its 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine and combined cycle fuel economy of 4.0l/100kms. Drive is via a six-speed manual transmission.
A member of Honda’s ‘Earth Dreams Technology’ family the Honda Civic diesel was conceived to address tough exhaust emissions regulations in Europe.
Honda has equipped the new Civic diesel comprehensively with standard features including fuel-saving auto start/stop, hill start-assist, a tyre deflation warning system and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Honda Civic diesel carries the maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating.
Honda Australia says the new Civic diesel will be priced from $26,990 when it arrives in April – undercutting the entry-level Volkswagen Golf diesel by $2,000.
