Along with re-pricing for the Alfa Romeo range, Australia’s Fiat-Chrysler Group has announced similar measures for the too-cute-for-words Fiat 500.
The world-acclaimed Italian compact now starts locally under $20,000 at $18,800.
No change for the hot-selling range of Fiat Professional commercial vehicles – the large Ducato van (now with an available automatic transmission) already sharply priced from $36,990 and the similarly competent, smaller Scudo starting at $28,990. Big news awaits however with 2014 arrivals in the form of the Fiat Doblo small van and Fiorino compact van.
In the pipeline for the Fiat passenger car range are new additions to the 500 lineup – the four-door 500L, 500X compact SUV and limited edition Maserati and Gucci models. Just two months away is the Fiat Freemont ‘crossover’ (closely related to the Dodge Journey) in both seven-seat and five-seat models while later this year the Fiat Panda (one of Europe’s top-selling vehicles) will arrive ‘downunder’ to be followed by a compact Panda 4X4 early next year to give Fiat and entrant in the compact SUV segment.
The Fiat 500 range is now priced at:
Hatchback 0.9 TwinAir MT $18,800
Hatchback 0.9 TwinAir MTA $20,300
Cabrio MT $21,200
Cabrio MTA $22,700
