Prices are down, equipment levels and performance are up and five seats are now standard in the updated 2013 versions of Audi’s slick A5 and A7 Sportbacks.
Curiously Australian Design Rule issues prevented Audi from offering the good-looking A5 and A7 Sportbacks with five seats but these concerns have now been overcome and the 2013 models can be equipped with five seats – broadening their appeal for sure – at no extra cost.
Further good news for Audi buyers – the latest A5 Sportback arrives with no price increase wjile the two A7 Sportback models enjoy significant price reductions. The 3.0 TDI model is slashed by $7,000 to $135,750 and the 3.0 TFSI comes down by $3,500 to $143,800.
Under the bonnet, the Audi A7 3.0 TFSI gains 8kW of power (now 228kW) and the 3.0 TDI diesel secures 80Nm of torque (now 580Nm). The 3.0 TDI now drives thjrough Audi’s superb eight-speed automatic transmission.
For the six-cylinder Audi A5 Sportback, as well as the five-seat rear, the 2013 model scores a memory function for the drivers’ seat and full electric mirrors.
Next month the range is boosted by the arrival of the 3.0 TDI Biturbo.
