Subaru has unveiled its Australian 2012 Impreza lineup in Japan
The new range includes three models - Impreza 2.0i, Impreza 2.0i-L and Impreza 2.0i-S. ‘L’ is the luxury variant which adds an electric sunroof, premium multifunction display, rearview camera, privacy glass and upgraded audio, while the sporty ‘S’ adds leather trim, electronic adjustment for the driver's seat, alloy pedals and HID xenon headlights.
All will employ the new FB 2.0-litre horizontally opposed Boxer engine which, helped by auto start stop, delivers fuel consumption of 6.8L/100kms - 22 per cent more efficient than its predecessor - and drives all four wheels via a six speed manual transmission or Lineartronic CVT. Maximum power is 110 kW at 6200 rpm and peak torque of 196 N metres is delivered at 4200 rpm.
Styling is certainly tidied up over the current model and Subaru says the slightly longer wheelbase delivers more cargo area and extra interior room.
Final Australian specifications and pricing have not been confirmed.
